What is the Frewg Guarantee?

We want to make sure you’re happy with your book and if you’re not we’re here to make it right.

  • You can return your book for any reason within 21 days of placing your order
  • Return shipping is always free
  • Rentals can be extended at any time from your my account (*linked*) page
  • You can choose to keep the book and it will never cost more than the purchase price.

What is the Book Quality Guarantee?

If you’re not happy with the quality of your rented book you’re welcome to return it for another copy. If your book comes damaged you must let us known within 21 days of placing your order to avoid paying a damage fee at the end of your rental period. We will send you another copy of your book at no cost to you, just promptly send us back the damaged book.

Take care of your book for the next customer! Please limit highlighting and writing to a minimum. Also remember to protect against loss or theft!

Are there late fees?

No but if your book is not postmarked by the end of your rental period you will automatically be charged for a 15 day extension period. If the book is still not postmarked after the 15 day extension period it will automatically be renewed for another 15 day period and so on until either the book is returned or the rental has been bought out. You can buy out a rental at any time and if the cost of the 15 day extension exceeds the buyout price it will be bought out automatically. At the point of buyout the book becomes your property and you have opted out of the Lease-Purchase Agreement.

Are supplemental materials (access codes or CDs) included with books?

Supplemental materials are not guaranteed with any book bought or rented from Frewg. Many books reference supplements in the book or on the cover but these supplements are separate items and not guaranteed to come with the book. If your book comes with any supplements you are allowed to use them, just return them with your book when it is due. If you have purchased the book from Frewg and it comes with a supplement it is yours to keep, just like the book.

Can a rented book be purchased?

Yes, any book rented from Frewg can be purchased to keep permanently. Doing so opts you out of the Lease-Purchase Agreement. The rental price you already paid goes toward the purchase price of the book. See the extensions/buyouts page and select the “buyout” option to see the buyout price and to buy the book.

What condition does a book have to be in to sell to Frewg?

Frewg will buy books that that with no noticeable damage to the cover/binding and if all the pages are intact (no stains, tears or creases, no missing pages). Minimal highlighting or writing is acceptable.
All books being sold to Frewg that are listed in the Buyback Quote as being part of a set must include all supplemental items that the publisher originally included with the book such as CDs, working access codes, study guides, etc.

What are the extension periods?

Extensions are sold in 15 day increments (up to 60 days), or you can extend for a second quarter (90 days) or semester (125 days).

How do I extend my rental?

You can extend your rental at any time from your Current Orders tab in your My Account page.

In the Current Order tab of My Account Click the Extend button to add the book to your cart with the extension option.

After you have picked the extension period just checkout like normal, easy as that.

What to do if I’m having problems printing my shipping labels?

If your printer is working and will print other files but won’t print your shipping label:

  • Turn off your pop-up blocker
  • Save the label file on your computer and print from there
  • Email the shipment label file to a buddy and have them print it for you
If your printer is not working and won’t print other files:
  • Make sure the correct printer is selected and powered on
  • Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer

How do I return my books?

Return shipping is free! Just send your books using Media Mail at your local post office to

Your return postage will be refunded to the credit card on your account. Make sure you use Media Mail, we can't refund for other shipping methods!

What do I pack in the box to return my book?

Your packing slip, the books you have rented (and any supplements that came with them if applicable) with our prepaid shipping label on the outside. If your book came in a box we recommend reusing it, just remember to cover up or cross out any old labels.

What if my books are due on a weekend?

If your due date is on a weekend or holiday just take your books to the UPS location on the next (or previous) business day. Your UPS label must be printed out on or before your due date, regardless of whether the date is on a weekend or holiday.

What is an ISBN?

The ISBN is located right above or right below the bar code on the back of a back and on the reverse of the title page. It is either a 10 digit or 13 digit series of numbers (either one is valid).

Why are some books available for purchase but not for rental?

If we determine there is not enough demand for a book to rent it again we will offer it for sale. If a book is consumable (e.g. a workbook) then it is only available for sale.
